The Titans signed Jason Jones today and released Bryce Fisher. Here is the story:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-titans-jones&prov=ap&type=lgns

1 to go! I think they will get Johnson signed without many problems and have a full roster when camp starts. I'm very excited about Johnson, I think he is going to open up a lot options for the offense they has not been there. I'm ready for the season to get going! Let's hope LenDale arrives in shape and everyone has a healthy training camp!

No really, in his Owner's Power Rankings, Michael Silver ranks Bud Adams 19th.

He starts with:

The Titans are generally regarded as a well-run franchise that milks the most out of the Nashville market, and Fisher’s presence makes it an attractive place to play. To Adams’s credit, he has retained Fisher for more than 13 seasons, making the former Bears safety the league’s longest-tenured head coach, and provided him with a smart, personable general manager in Mike Reinfeldt.

Then finishes:

This is the point at which I usually make fun of Adams’s hair, but I think he may be too old for that now.

*sigh*

As many of you may have already heard, Jason Taylor was traded to the Redskins. Jason Taylor was dealt to the Redskins for their 2nd draft pick in 2009 and 6th draft pick in 2010. Even with the addition of Kearse, I would have loved for our front office to have made this move.

Imagine gameplanning against Haynesworth and a blend of Taylor, Vandenbosh, and Kearse on the ends. We'd immediately have the best D-line in the NFL...hands down. The play of Haynesworth last year as well as the New York Giants d-line convinced me that a strong defensive line is the most important thing in professional football.

Now, things in the NFL never happen in a vacuum. Jason Taylor wanted out of Miami for a championship ring. We don't know if he thought the Titans were a contender. But, if he did, and Reinfelt didn't make a run at him, I'd be very disappointed.

I posted this in a reply to a different thread, but feel we need to talk about how Jimmy got All Star Game Tickets and Home Run Derby Tickets. I have 10 theories, please add to the list....

1. Our hard earned blog money paid for his trip (ok, it’s a free site…but you get my point)
2. Dannoe (I think he works in NYC), pulled some strings and got Jimmy there
3. He used to supply Josh Hamilton???
4. He was the old guy throwing to Josh Hamilton in the derby.
5. He is Josh Hamilton
6. Since there was a ridiculous amount of Cubs in the game, they let some of their sorry-a__ fans go too (Go Cardinals)
7. The NL needed someone to pitch the 16th…..Jimmy was ready
8. The Titans paid for his trip so he wouldn’t be around when we fail to re-sign Haynesworth.
9. Belmont University has better perks than anyone knew
10. Stubhub?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anybody heard about training camp. I was going to try to go sometime this year but I don't really know anything about it. Like where to go and when and if cost anything. If someone could give me some more info. I would really appreciate it.

So if fill to 75 words. So I heard it is at Baptist St. Park (wherever what is?), but I don't think it's far from the stadium. And I think it's free, but I didn't know. And basically you come...starting around 10? Maybe, and later someome comes by and signs autographs. And I heard it was the 25? Anyone hear different. I guess they'll but info on the website before hand.

Though it doesn't address Forwler's situation, it's a compelling glimpse at an insecure and desperate man who may well have lied to hurt people he thought had wronged him:

Is he mental? The deadline for his franchise tag is today, so it's sign a deal now or wait until next year before he can even talk about a new contract.

From PFT:

The ballpark of the discussions is unclear. We previously heard, however, that the Titans would be willing to give Haynesworth the same deal Tommie Harris recently got from the Bears. The fact that a deal hasn’t been done along those lines suggests that Haynesworth is aiming much higher than that.

The other ominous sign here: Somebody has to have talked about the internal negotiations, and usually a GM will leak that info when it makes the team look more reasonable for not signing a guy.

Ugghhh.

Hey y'all..

Titan Fans are in for a treat at the opening game on August 9, the girl that will sing the National Anthem is an amazing country artist - her name is RISSI PALMER and she will ROCK YOUR WORLD! She has an a new album out (buy it at Amazon) with a single called Country Girl that I LOVE and did an amazing remake of Jordin Sparks NO AIR (only available at iTunes - its not on the album).

Although I live in the south, I went to junior high and high school with Jeff Fisher. I hadn't been paying much attention to the Titans since about 2003 when Jeff was the hometown hero and we all know why! But now that I'm in the south I became a big fan.

Here's a shout out to Coach Jeff - Let's see some superbowl action this year huh?

According to an NFL source, Travis Henry has again tested positive for marijuana. He apparently failed the test late last night, and I doubt he'll be able to successfully appeal this one like he did his other. This guy's a disgrace to the league, and letting him go may be the best highly-scrutinized move this organization has ever made. In my opinion, he should never be allowed to play in this league again. When you're trying to clean up the image of an entire league, does it really make sense to keep a guy who goes against everything for which it stands?

Well it is probably the slowest time of the NFL year with training camp and preseason right around the corner I thought I would pose a question everyone.

With all of the talk going on about Favre coming back and more than likely being released and every Packers fan saying "I can't picture Favre in a different uniform". It got me curious to see what hurt you guys more:

Seeing Eddie George play for the Cowboys or

Seeing Steve McNair play for the Ravens?

I know the circumstances surrounding each but it was still a shock to see them and one had to hurt more than the other to everyone.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been around much, but I just transfered to Montana and have been dealing with that for the past couple of months. It's been several years since I moved last and I had forgotten how horrible a big move is. Of course, we've added another kid and dog since the last move and all the crap that goes with it, so that added to the mess.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and let everyone know why I had disappeared. I've noticed a disturbing lack of posts by Beans. Did you guys run him off?

Hope all is well with everyone.

NFL's Dirtiest Player

ESPN had a poll based on NFL coaches votes and Rodney Harrison was voted the Dirtiest. Kevin Mawae got 1 vote which I thought was funny. Courtland Finnegan got an honorable mention from WR Brandon Stokley of Denver:

Stokley also singled out Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan as a player with bad intentions. Finnegan, a former small-school prospect and seventh-round draft choice, has become popular in Tennessee for playing with an edge. But his name hasn't shown up among those with the most personal fouls.

"It really doesn't bother me," Stokley said. "It's a part of it and it's a violent, aggressive game. As long as guys don't take it too far. I really don't think it's a big problem in the league."

Your my boy Finn!

Thought that you guys might find this interesting. I know over the last two seasons everyone has kind of freaked out about Vince and his TD passing numbers.

I was watching a video of the Miracle last night and at the beginning of the game it stated that McNair had thrown 12 Tds that year and 8 Ints. That is not far off of what VY has done. As a matter of fact, his rookie campaign he threw 12 TD's. Vince has higher INT #'s cause his decision making is not as good as Mac's was. Remember at this stage in Mac's Career he was a 5 year vet. (only throwing 12 Td's)

What I am getting at is this. Our offense is never going to put up 30 passing TD's. It is not how we are made. We are a run first team. However I do think that VY will take a LEAP forward this year and throw for about 19 TD's

Tell me what you think? How many passing TD's will VY have, and how do you feel with the comparrison to Mac?
